There was great enthusiasm and deep gratitude from the dialysis patients at the Diaverum clinic for the wonderful afternoon spent together during the visit organised by Dr Russo and Dr Cesarano to the Ninfa Gardens. The day was also attended by the head nurse of the Fondi clinic, Claudio Riccardi, the deputy head nurse Salvatore Crispino, and Dr Iacovelli, President of FINTRED (Italian Federation of Kidney Transplant Patients and Donors), demonstrating the care and attention shown to our patients.

The initiative gave 20 patients the opportunity to enjoy a walk surrounded by nature, amidst the sound of the wind, the birdsong and the evocative silence of one of the most fascinating places in the area. Walking through the ancient medieval town of Ninfa, whose origins date back to the 11th century and which was transformed into a garden by the Caetani family in the early 20th century, gave the feeling of being in a place outside of time, far from traffic, chaos and the daily hustle and bustle. Today, the Ninfa Gardens are managed by the Roffredo Caetani Foundation and are affiliated with the WWF as a nature reserve. The Ninfa Gardens are renowned as the most beautiful and romantic in the world, home to over 1,300 plant species and a unique microclimate bathed by the River Ninfa.

Dr Russo also arranged a lovely picnic to round off the day, organised in accordance with the dietary requirements of dialysis patients, so that everyone could enjoy a simple snack together, accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine to toast this shared moment. Special thanks also go to the Caetani Foundation and all the staff at the Giardini di Ninfa, who welcomed the group with great sensitivity, helpfulness and care, understanding how much dialysis can be an obstacle in the daily lives of many patients. Collaborations such as this, however, demonstrate that, with the right human and organisational support, many obstacles can be overcome, allowing people to experience moments of serenity, social interaction and beauty. This day fully embodied Diaverum’s values: going beyond mere treatment with passion, inspiration and expertise. The treatment journey is not seen merely as a time dedicated to medical care, but also as an opportunity to build relationships, share experiences, spend time together and live a full and fulfilling life. For Diaverum, it is important to make people feel part of a community, offering not only healthcare but also opportunities for leisure, socialising and personal wellbeing.
